Greetings, my members of our Committee to Support and Defend. The Senate Armed Services Committee last month failed to carefully scrutinize the record of CJCS nominee, US Air Force Chief of Staff, General Charles Q. Brown. They used a voice vote process, not even a full roll call vote, and sent his nomination to the full Senate.
The providentially good news is that the Senate departed last week Friday for its six-week recess without confirming him for that post. All other things being equal, that will amount to nothing more than a short “stay of execution.”
But it falls to us to make sure that all other things are not equal… we have a great opportunity because the US Senate thinks we will just forget this matter.
Over this Senate recess, we need to Charlie Mike (continue the mission) and contact these Senators, especially seven key ones, and get them to understand we do not want to have Al Sharpton with four stars as CJCS.
Currently, Senator Tuberville’s hold is impeding his confirmation. But cloture will likely be invoked once the recess ends. We must secure the votes of forty-one Senators to block cloture, and turn the vote into a real debate about not just this highly politicized and otherwise problematic general officer and the policies he espouses. It could amount to the kind of opposition to what the cultural Marxists are doing to our armed forces that has been largely absent to date.
A vote for Brown is a vote for “woke” cultural Marxism happens to be true, utterly unacceptable and a basis for a real fight for the future of our military.
The truth of the matter is that General Brown should be considered disqualified on other grounds, as well. For three years in his present role as Air Force Chief of Staff, he has presided over the steady decline in the readiness and warfighting capabilities of the U.S. Air Force. Notably, the Heritage Foundation’s extraordinarily authoritative annual Index of U.S. Military Strength rated that service’s strength as “marginal” in 2021, “weak” in 2022 and “very weak” in 2023. That record alone should preclude him from being promoted to a position that would enable him to achieve similarly dismal results in all of the other services, as well.
Please visit the website RejectGeneralBrown.org and share it with others. This action will help you and those with whom you share the message reach your state’s Senators with the message.
As well, we have these seven critical Senate Republicans who need to hear from you. To reach them, you will need to call the Capital switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to their office.
