Greetings everyone, as I type this missive, it is Tuesday, 27 May, 2:40 pm CT. I just got back two hours ago from the AMVETS Rolling to Remember, Rolling Thunder, motorcycle ride and remembrance activities in Washington, DC. It has been five years to the day since my catastrophic motorcycle accident, Memorial Day weekend 2020. This was a really big deal for me to be in DC with my Brother and Sister veterans and motorcycle riders to Honor Memorial Day and remember our fallen. Yep, da ol’ Colonel survived six days traveling on my 2024 Indian Challenger to and from my home in Garland, Texas, some 3,000 miles. And yes, my fourth point of contact is a tad bit sore…but it was well worth it! Getting to see my old buddies Ray Manzo and Walt Sides, two of the surviving original founders of Rolling Thunder, was moving.

It was a great experience being in DC and especially getting to be an escort for a Gold Star Mom, U.S. Air Force MSgt (Ret) Rose Duval, who lost her Son, Scott, a USAF PJ in Afghanistan. Rose and I struck up an awesome friendship, one that will last for the ages. Being in DC during Memorial Day reminds us that those who serve and make the ultimate sacrifice, and the loved ones who they leave behind, are the true essence of what makes this Constitutional Republic great. And on Sunday, as I sat on a patch of grass on Constitution Avenue at our preliminary staging point, I pondered such. I was right there next to Rolling Thunder Alley, looking at the Lincoln Memorial and across the street from the Vietnam War Memorial, remembering the lives lost during the Civil and Vietnam Wars.

All of a sudden, a fellow rider came up to me with a troubled and forlorn look on his face. He stood over me as I sat there on the grass and apologized for interrupting me. I guess he could tell I was in a moment of reflection. He admitted that the last thing he wanted to do was bother me with discussing politics, but he asked if he could inquire about an issue. And of course, I welcomed his question…which would send me into deeper thought as I rode back from DC. He asked me if I was privy to information that regular people were not in reference to individuals being held accountable for their misdeeds and actions. Talk about expecting a fastball and getting a wicked curve…

I admitted that I did not have any exclusionary knowledge and that I also shared his concern. Too many are watching what is happening in America and realize that there are indeed two systems of “justice,” and that is highly disconcerting. One group feels that anyone violating their ideological agenda and purposes must be persecuted and prosecuted. Matter of fact, it had just been a few days prior when two young Israeli Embassy workers were gunned down in cold blood, just because they were Jewish. Then there is the other group that is reticent and recalcitrant to be bold and hold individuals accountable for their actions in violating the rule of law.

Consider this, the young terrorist (that is what he is) who gunned down the two Jewish Embassy officials, shouted out “Free, Free Palestine”. In other words, he took to heart the calls for “Intifada” being proliferated here in America. Yet, we go through all sorts of insidious machinations when it comes to holding those inciting such violence accountable…ala Mahmoud Khalil, who some refer to as a “student activist.” I just recently read where the leftist group called the Southern Poverty Law Center, a true misnomer, has listed Turning Point USA as a hate group. Yet, when one of their SPLC employees was caught with a known violent insurrection group, Antifa, conducting violence against the Atlanta Police Department, mum was the word. Who is holding the SPLC accountable? Why do they list only constitutional conservative organizations as hate groups?

I find it absolutely inconceivable that someone such as Jake Tapper, of whom we have the receipts, can now make millions of dollars addressing an issue for which he was complicit. It appears that in Tapper’s case, being held accountable means becoming an instant multi-millionaire, making money, profiting off the greatest deception and lie perpetrated against the American people. And no, I will not be purchasing his book. Matter of fact, if Tapper had any conscience, he would donate all book sales profits to Veteran service organizations. Tapper reminds me of the window repairman from Frederic Bastiat’s essay, The Law. The cheeky fella would go about the town at night and break windows, just so he could come around the next day and repair them.

Memorial Day is a day of honor. A day when we reflect upon those who made the last full measure of devotion to this Nation. Yet there are many oxygen thieves walking about who do not deserve their sacrifice. The liars, the deceptors, those who rip down our flag and raise the flag of a terrorist group. Those who incite violence in the name of their leftist and jihadist agendas. Those who believe that criminal illegal immigrants have the same due process rights as those Men and Women who honor this Nation with their selfless service, and potential ultimate sacrifice. How many millions needlessly died because of COVID mishandling? Who will be held accountable? Who was responsible for lying to the American people about the health of former President Joe Biden? Will they be held accountable? Who destroyed evidence relating to the J6 fiasco and mock hearings? Will they be held accountable?

Who are the ones financially supporting subversive domestic terrorist groups in these United States of America?

It is very funny how you hear one side rant about “no one is above the law.” Yet the same side of the leftist governing philosophy will stand in support of a judge who released a criminal illegal immigrant from her court…and pleaded not guilty, even as she was caught on camera.

The hypocrisy is laughable, if it were not so troubling. I want to thank the young man who came up to me Sunday morning on that little grassy knoll. He asked the right question, and it is a question that should be answered not based upon political ideology, but based upon the rule of law…break it, like allowing tens of millions to enter our Country illegally, and you will be held accountable. And NO one should fear holding anyone accountable based upon the law…and not some nebulous concept called “social justice”.

Honor Memorial Day! Hold those who violate our Constitution accountable.

Steadfast and Loyal.
