DHS said ICE lodged a detainer asking Illinois and Chicago officials not to release Jose Medina-Medina, a Venezuelan national accused in the killing of 18-year-old Loyola student Sheridan Gorman. The statement says local reports allege he approached her with a gun in a Chicago park and fatally shot her as she tried to flee.
