DHS said Wilson Adrian Morocho-Necta, an Ecuadoran national, remained at large as the lead suspect in a Morristown hit-and-run that killed 68-year-old Justo Pilco-Tenesaca. The statement says authorities allege he struck the victim with a truck, left him pinned underneath it, and fled the scene on foot.
ICE said it arrested several people with prior convictions that included attempted murder, sexual assault with a weapon, aggravated kidnapping, assault on a pregnant woman, and attempted arson. The statement lists cases from New Jersey, Illinois, Utah, and Texas as part of a broader enforcement effort.
DHS said ICE asked New Jersey officials not to release Gerardo Garcia Gonzalez, a Mexican national arrested on charges that include sexual assault of a victim between 13 and 15 years old, criminal sexual contact, and sexual assault by force or coercion. The statement says he had previously entered the United States illegally and was returned to Mexico before reentering again.
